Seasonal Cleanup in Altamonte Springs

We clear the leaves, fallen limbs and spent growth that build up between seasons, then cut back, edge and reset the beds so your home looks cared for again. Before storm season, we also take down the loose material that wind would otherwise throw around.

A reset for the yard, done at the right time

Seasonal cleanup is the work that brings a property back to a clean starting point. Here that usually means two moments in the year. Late winter into spring, when live and laurel oaks drop a heavy layer of leaves onto lawns and beds. And early summer, before hurricane season, when dead fronds, weak branches and overgrown shrubs are worth dealing with while the weather is calm.

Our focus is on what actually causes trouble later. Wet leaf mats smother St. Augustine grass and hold moisture against plant stems. Brittle limbs and loose debris become projectiles in a summer squall. Clearing them on a schedule is quieter, cheaper and far less stressful than sorting through it after high wind has already come through.

If a storm has already left a mess, we handle that too. Larger jobs with heavy downed wood fall under our property cleanup service, and anything that needs a saw high in the canopy goes to tree trimming and removal.

What a seasonal cleanup covers

  1. 01

    Leaf and needle removal

We blow and rake leaves and pine needles out of the lawn, beds and hard surfaces, including the corners behind shrubs where they pack down. Everything is bagged or loaded and hauled away.

  2. 02

    Fallen limbs and fronds

Branches, dead palm fronds and seed pods on the ground are gathered, cut to size and removed from the property.

  3. 03

    Shrub and perennial cutback

We trim back overgrown hedges, frost-damaged growth and spent perennials to healthy wood, using clean, sharp tools so cuts close properly.

  4. 04

    Bed weeding and edge work

Weeds are pulled by the root, and bed and walkway edges are recut to a crisp line. If the beds need fresh material afterward, our mulch and beds service picks up from there.

  5. 05

    Wind-risk look-around

While we work, we note anything that could loosen in high wind, such as cracked limbs over the roofline or top-heavy shrubs, and tell you plainly what we found.

Signs your yard is due for a cleanup

  • Leaves are matting on the lawn

A wet layer of oak leaves blocks light and air. If the grass underneath looks yellow or thin, it has been sitting too long.

  • Beds have lost their shape

When edges blur into the lawn and weeds outnumber plants, a cutback and re-edge restores the outline.

  • Dead fronds and brittle branches

Brown, hanging palm fronds and dry limbs on shrubs are the first things to break loose in summer wind.

  • Debris left from the last big wind

Scattered twigs and small branches that never got picked up trap moisture and invite pests.

  • Frost-burned growth after a cold snap

Tropical plants often show brown, papery leaves after a rare freeze. Trimming them back at the right time lets fresh growth come in clean.

How a cleanup day goes

  1. 1

A walkthrough and a clear estimate

We walk the property with you, or on our own if you prefer, and give you a written estimate that lists each area and task. You know the scope before anyone starts.

  2. 2

    Protecting what stays

We mark irrigation heads, landscape lighting and delicate plantings before the blowers and trimmers come out, so nothing fragile gets clipped or buried.

  3. 3

    Clearing, cutting and edging

The crew works from the top down: shrubs and cutbacks first, then beds, then the lawn and hard surfaces last, so debris only gets cleared once.

  4. 4

    Haul-away and a final walk

All green waste leaves with us. We do a last pass over driveways and walkways, then point out anything we noticed that may need attention before hurricane season.

What shapes the price of a cleanup

Every yard is priced on what is actually there, which is why we look before we quote. The estimate is free and written out line by line. If you decide to add work along the way, we talk it through with you first.

Size of the property and beds
Square footage matters, but the number and density of planted beds usually matters more, since detail work takes longer than open lawn.
Volume of debris
A light spring leaf drop and a yard covered in wind-thrown limbs are very different loads to cut, carry and haul.
How long since the last cleanup
Overgrown hedges and established weeds take more cutting and pulling than a yard that is maintained on a regular rhythm.
Access and disposal
Narrow side yards, fenced backyards and steep slopes slow the work. The amount of green waste we haul away also plays a part.

Seasonal cleanup questions

When is the best time to schedule a cleanup?

For most yards, late winter or early spring after the oaks finish dropping, and again in late spring before hurricane season starts in June. Some homeowners add a fall pass. We can suggest a rhythm once we have seen your property.

Do you take all the debris away?

Yes. Leaves, clippings, branches and fronds are loaded and hauled off. You are not left with a row of bags at the curb.

Will you trim my palms and large trees during a cleanup?

We clear dead fronds and branches that are within reach from the ground. Work higher in the canopy is handled through our palm tree pruning and removal or tree trimming and removal services, and we will tell you if that is needed.

Who will be working on my property?

We are a family-owned company, and we are business licensed and fully insured. Our own crew does the work, and we keep you informed about what we are doing and what we find.

Can a cleanup help prepare for a storm?

It helps a great deal. Removing dead wood, loose fronds and overgrown shrubs takes away much of what wind picks up and throws against windows, cars and fences. It will not make a yard windproof, but it makes the aftermath far easier to deal with.
